The Bout Called Life
I am immediately fronted with a bombardment of thoughts, all of them beating my brain as though they were hornets sent to torment me about one thing...my sin.
"I am ashamed!" I cry aloud.
"As well you should be." said the voice of sin, cracked and hoarse it sounded.
"Why did God Almighty abandon me to fight the world all alone?" I wondered with anger.
"God, ha! God never loved you. What? You think He created you with an actual purpose?I will tell you why you where made." said sin.
"Why, oh why was I made?" said I
" To be laughed at every single time you mess up." said sin sarcastically.
And then at that moment a voice from the side of the strip called out to me
"Why do you doubt me? Was I not there when you needed me? Even in the matters that you thought meant nothing. Am I not your Father, son of mine? Come back to Me" said the voice lovingly and warmly.
I realized that it was God, my Coach through the bout called life. I dropped every thing and asked Him to take me and use me the way that He sees fit.

The Encounter
My mouth wide; anger, curiosity, and amazement surged over me. For the Tempter stood in front of me, with a twisted smile upon his beautiful, yet evil face.
"You scum," He said, " you rotten, no good human. You have spat in the very face of God Almighty."
I didn't know how to answer, But there I stood speechless because of his accusation.
"You wonder how? I will tell you, worthless piece of clay. You claim to be a Christian" , He said mockingly, " and yet you only play Christian on the days you go to church. Every other day you are ensnared by my wiles, I know, you never knew it was me. Did you?" He paused awaiting an answer, but no answer could come forth from my mouth.
"I thought not." At that moment I fell to my knees, and prayed, prayed like there was no tomorrow.
My eyes opened, the sleep heavy in my eyes. I remembered the encounter with Satan, I gasped and looked around...I sighed, it was only a dream.

Chapter 3
"Master, how did you come to choose us?" asked Balian, as was the custom to begin the ceremony with a thoughtful question . Julius looked at each of them, and said
"I chose each of you for your talents. I chose you, Jamos, for your nimble tongue. And you, Kent, for you are apt to learn, and in return to teach. And you, Balian, for your way with weapons-any king would be proud to have you as their champion fighter."
They soon made their way to the grove where the ceremony would take place.
Julius sent Balian to fetch the logs for the ceremonial fire, for Balian was the strongest of the three. While Balian was gone Julius, Jamos, and Kent stayed and prepared the fire ring.
When they were through building the fire ring, Balian had returned with five trees cut into small logs.
"Good Balian, you got enough" said Jamos facetiously.
When the sun was setting beyond the hills all the princes were being lead by Justin, a jealous young prince. Justin walked up to Julius and said with resentment in his voice
"Why was I not chosen to help with the ceremony, my lord?"
"Because, Justin, you are to reckless and your emotions rule over you, not you over them." said Julius calmly. At these words Justin stomped off to take his place at the twenty foot fire ring.
Jamos walked up to Julius and asked what was wrong with Justin, but the only answer he got was a sigh.
The ceremony went according to plan and everyone went back to the school so they could get a fresh start on the new year, with the exception of Julius, Jamos, Kent, Balian, and Justin.
Justin, who was fuming at Julius' words earlier, walked right up to Julius and spat in his face. Balian immediately drew his sword from its sheath, but was halted by Julius with a slight gesture of his hand.
"You old man, if you were not surrounded by your pathetic pupils I would kill you right here, right now." said Justin angrily.
"And you only prove my words true young Justin. You could be great, if you would but give up your pride and take control of your emotions."said Julius calmly.
"Let me kill this dog, if he is worthy to be called such." bellowed Balian.
"No, he is not worth the bloodshed." said Julius firmly.
"I give you this one word of promise, O great Julius teacher of filth, I will return and I will take your life." as soon as Justin said this he ran swiftly to his horse and quickly galloped away.
"Master, what was all that about?" asked Kent starring off the way Justin rode.
Julius did not answer but looked off into the sunset.

Mississippi Old And Dear
State of magnolias comfort my fear.
Fear of pain for a nation,
all because of a new sensation.
Mississippi old and dear,
State of magnolias comfort my fear.
Chivalry is dead and no one cries,
For his humble beginning and swift demise.
Mississippi old and dear,
Sate of magnolias comfort my fear.
For childhood is dead
and all the young turn to old.
Mississippi old and dear,
State of magnolias comfort my fear.

The Tenth Year
Through the seasons till they stop,
Or, at least until I drop,
From death of a heart broken,
Like a tender rose crushed by life's cruel feet.
I feel like life has me beat,
And will keep my love until I sleep.
But, still I wait,
And evermore will, wait upon this hill until my love be at my side.
Hark! a figure down in distant valley!
Oh, it is only tricks of shadows to keep me weary
Still I wait and evermore will,
Wait upon this hill until my love be at my side.
Hark! the tenth year comes with the witch of winter driving it forward,
Like a slave ever burdened.
So I look at the sun in westward travel.
Still I wait upon this hill and evermore will,
Wait upon this hill until my love be at my side.
Hark! the gentle figure of a woman,
She is on yonder hill though,
Still she may be my love come to meet with me as she promised years ago.
Still I wait upon this hill and evermore will,
Wait upon this hill until my love be at my side.
The distant figure come closer still,
And, as she came closer her head was held downward,
As if in solemn prayer, and then...
She looks up, her eyes flashing, at him the one whom she loves.
She ran towards him and he at her.
They embraced,
And he nevermore had to wait upon that hill,
For his love was at his side.

Keller and Hoover: Adventure in the Kitchen
" Go back to sleep can't you see that it's dark outside?" moaned Hoover. Keller laughed at his remark and sarcastically replied.
" I am blind I can't see a thing, I can only hear and smell. Ha and mother said that you were the smart one.... there isn't a smart boy in the world."
Hoover wondered at this for a while, and slowly sleep crept upon him and he was soon chasing rabbits through the meadows. Keller heard him snoring and settled down and fell asleep once again.
After a short dog-nap, for there are no cat-naps in this story, Keller woke to foot steps; one then another...a yawn...and then, oh the sound every dog loves to hear in the morning, a plastic cup scooping up delicious kibbles just for hungry dogs to savour. After a wondrous meal Keller and Hoover got to explore the unknown reaches of the kitchen.
"Hoover, come on don't be a big sissy it is just the kitchen." Keller said fearlessly.
"But what about the monster over there?" Hoover said as he pointed to the dishwasher.
"Oh don't be silly brother, he is always asleep, do you not hear him snoring?" Keller said confidently.
"Oh, but sis, what if we get lost?" added in Hoover (who didn't want to leave his bed).
Keller put her nose in the air and said with an air of royalty.
"Why I'll use my nose to guide use back, after all I am a dachshund."
" Well, ok sis, whatever you say. But lets not go to far." said Hoover scared about the monster. So he crept forward to Keller's side, softly tiptoeing as not to wake the monster snoring heavily next to him.
So they walked about the kitchen, and only a few times did Keller bump into a cabinet or table leg. Soon, to Hoovers fears, they came right next to the the monster.
"Keller, I think we should go back to bed, I don't like this thing." said Hoover with a tremor in his voice. Keller scoffed at him and began to speak, but before she could utter a sound, the enormous monster growled at them-for they did not know that it was only the dishwasher finishing its cycle. They did what any scared puppy would, ran as fast as they could back to their bed and vowed never to leave it again.

Chapter 2
December, they say, is the time for man to read, sleep, and court;
This was not so for the princes under Julius' tutelage, for there were no women there.
Julius started teaching the young princes geography, mathematics, and literature.
They agreed that literature was the best subject to learn while winter waged war with the earth.
Therefore they studied more literature than the other subjects.
Julius did not permit them to stop their studies-save for the day of the Christ Mass.
None of the princes liked the idea, but each of them respected Julius therefore gave way to his decision.
On the day of the Christ Mass, Julius assembled them all in the great hall, and addressed them such:
"My princes, for nearly a month you have studied under me. I wish to let you know that I have decided that each of you will remain here for seven winters-or until you are called for by your gracious kings-and upon the seventh spring you will return home to your fathers and mothers.
I wish to teach you to be great leaders, when the time comes."
After his speech they broke fast together in the hall. With much glee and happiness they talked amongst themselves, about the stories they read and about their homes, and the girls they thought to be most fair in the world.
The feast lasted until sundown and they, with full bellies, slowly got up from the table and went to their beds.
Chapter 1
And men loved to learn, as to impress the ladies of court.
There was a teacher that was viewed highly,
And was esteemed in almost every court of any wise king.
His name is Julius, and he was wise in the ways of God and men.
Julius loved no king more than the others,
Therefore he asked of each king to give him land to open a school of learning,
And each king gave it gladly and with the land each king sent five craftsmen to him.
With hundreds of men working for him,
Julius built The grandest school of that time, and in only three months,
But, alas, the witch of winter comes to knock on the door of good autumn.
Julius, therefore, sent the craftsmen back to their kings;
And with them he sent a message:
To the Kings of this land,
I ask of you another favor, send me your princes, so that they may learn
And also that they may learn to court in proper manner,
And so that I may keep this hall of mine, that you O great kings have given me, warm through The harsh winter season.
It was not long before every prince the kings could send were
There eager to learn what Julius had to teach them.
So begins the tale of Julius the wise teacher of princes.

Life Is Like A Book
Alas, every day is a paragraph, and every week like a page, and every month a chapter in our life. Unfortunately every chapter must come to an end, and therefore come closer to what some call doom, others call peace, death. The end of the book as we know it, ah but we gain understanding afterwards that only He, the Creator of the ends of the Universe, can show us.
Only, death is not something to be afraid of-if you know where you go-but a peace, if you go to the mansion that has been built for us.
